"I think about this course every day, how amazing it was and how much stronger I got because of that course. Not a day goes by that I don’t feel thankful for that experience. A lot of times, I remind myself of the lessons I learned. I will never forget. I’m really thankful for that opportunity. And to you all for offering me that scholarship. I couldn’t have done that without someone donating money to make that possible.

ANNUAL REPORTS
2017 Annual Report Theme is Compassionate Leadership
Every day, Outward Bound California teaches that compassion is a sign of strength, and can make the difference between an expedition that succeeds and one that fails. Kurt Hahn, one of the founders of Outward Bound, believed that through teaching compassion we can shift how we lead, learn and navigate the world. On course, participants become bonded by the style of leadership that is adopted.
Our programs cultivate, activate and transform students and staff, building confidence and an ethic of service, promoting self-discovery, and ultimately developing compassionate leaders.
Thanks to the consistent support and hard work of our donors, alumni and staff, we are able to bring the expeditionary learning model and Outward Bound values of compassion, integrity, excellence, diversity, and inclusion to our students.
Our 2017 Annual Report highlights our successes and learnings of what it means to be a compassionate leader at Outward Bound California. Read it to learn how we grew in 2017!
