The Logistics Coordinator (LC) supports all logistical functions of Outward Bound California Bay Area programming. LCs report to the Bay Area Logistics Manager and play a crucial role in the operation of Bay Area courses through the maintenance and execution of organized systems. The LC aids Instructors on course prep and post days, as well as course start and end days. LCs directly and indirectly support students on course by meeting the gear and equipment needs for front and backcountry expeditions. This position is perfect for the detail-oriented individual who enjoys feeding people, seeing projects through to a thorough and timely completion, and making things happen behind the scenes.
Who We Are
Outward Bound California is part of a national network of experiential and outdoor education programs for youth and adults. We use the inherent challenge of the wilderness and urban outdoor spaces to teach people of all ages to be compassionate leaders, serve their communities, and build character to ultimately reveal the full potential within all of us. With a 50 year history in the US, we provide extended, expeditionary style rock climbing, backpacking, mountaineering, urban, and service courses, serving ages 12 and up, including adult and veteran programs. As a non-profit, more than 2/3 of our students receive partial or full scholarships to go on a course with us in the High Sierra, Joshua Tree and in the Bay Area.

Additional Qualifications
21 years of age or older
Willing to authorize a federal and Live Scan background check and provide current negative TB test results upon hire (cost of all screening paid for or reimbursed by OBCA)
Have held a current Driver License for at least three years and possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record
Hold current Standard First Aid (8-hour training), CPR, and California Food Handler certifications (or willing to obtain by start date)
Physical Requirements
Sufficiently fit to participate in all site and logistics-related course activities while maintaining ample energy, strength, and focus to aid students and instructors
Able to lift and transport 20-50 pounds of gear several times a day
Can be on feet most days, possibly up to 16 hours, or more in case of an emergency

Are a proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Adobe, and G Suite (Gmail and Google Docs, Drive, and Calendar)
Hold a current Wilderness First Responder certification
Have field experience with outdoor education programs (Outward Bound experience preferred)
Speak Spanish, Mandarin or Cantonese
Responsibilities
Support the delivery of Outward Bound mission and educational framework
Coordinate the issue, de-issue, and maintenance of the regional outdoor equipment, including clean up, repair, laundry, and inventory
Maintain topographical map, medical, and expendable inventory
Execute all logistical details, preparations, and support for multiple courses at once
Consistently strive to give and receive feedback with co-workers and supervisor
Assist with the basic maintenance/upkeep of base facilities.
Adhere to all local operating procedures, safety policies, and emergency procedures outlined in the staff manual.
Maintain an excellent driving record
Transport students and equipment using large SUVs, trucks, and trailers
Prepare course meals through food inventory, purchasing, and packaging

This is a Seasonal, Exempt position
Starting Per Diem wage is between $94-130/day

Location
This position is located at our Bay Area program base in the Presidio, a national park in San Francisco, California, just minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge. The basecamp consists of two buildings with offices, a warehouse and a full kitchen.
